The Department of Radiology at University of California, San Diego is offering a 12-month fellowship in cardiothoracic radiology. This position provides comprehensive training in cardiothoracic imaging including chest radiography, chest CT, coronary CT, cardiac CT, chest MRI, cardiac MRI, and 4D Flow MRI. We are a high volume division with studies generated across multiple clinical sites including UC San Diego Medical Center Hillcrest (a designated Level I trauma center), Jacobs Medical Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, and Moores Cancer Center. UC San Diego boasts highly active cardiac and pulmonary transplant services and is among the world's largest referral center for chronic pulmonary thromboendarterectomy surgery.
Faculty is comprised of eight dedicated cardiothoracic radiologists pursuing interests in all aspects of thoracic imaging and cardiac imaging in close collaboration with cardiology colleagues. With dedicated academic time, fellows will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research, including interdisciplinary research in cardiac CT and MR. A large and varied patient population assures a wealth of clinical experience and exposure to a full spectrum of clinical pathology. Training includes daily interaction with the pulmonary, oncology, infectious disease, cardiology, and cardiothoracic surgery services. Additionally, fellows will have opportunities to participate in dedicated cardiothoracic radiology and interdisciplinary conferences including pulmonary tumor board, interstitial lung disease, adult congenital heart disease, CTEPH, advanced cardiac imaging, and lung transplant conferences.
