The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology provides a full spectrum of diagnostic angiographic studies along with vascular and nonvascular interventional procedures. We have recently installed one of the world’s first Insightec Exablate MR-guided focused ultrasound units at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center.

Conditions treated include:

  • Renovascular stenosis
  • Aortoiliac occlusive disease
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysms
  • Varicose veins
  • Ablation of certain tumors
  • Blocked carotid arteries
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Uterine artery embolization
  • Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT)
  • Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

Along with an inpatient admitting interventional radiology service, the division has an IR outpatient clinic that performs a wide range of minimally invasive procedures. Additionally, the division provides outpatient clinics for hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) and varicose veins. Please follow the links to the left to learn more.
