Katherine (Meg) Richman, M.D is Medical Director of Thornton Radiology at UCSD. She received her AB in Economics and her BS in Medical Microbiology at Stanford University. She completed all of her medical training (MD, internship, Diagnostic Radiology residency, and Body Imaging Fellowship) at the University of California, San Diego. She joined the faculty on April 1, 1999.

She has a special interest in body imaging and women’s imaging, performing hysterosalpingograms and sonohysterograms to assess women for infertility and gynecological issues. She is studying the use of 3D ultrasound for these issues. She spends the bulk of her time as a Body Imager based at Thornton Hospital.

She provides administrative leadership in a variety of venues. She serves as Medical Director of Radiology Informatics. She is currently President of the San Diego Radiological Society. She also serves as Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee, since September of 2006. She held the role of Residency Program Director and Vice-Chair of Education from 2003 to 2007.
