Dr. Mini N. Pathria completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and fine arts from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1979. She was awarded a Canada Council Scholarship for scholarly excellence at the completion of her undergraduate studies. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from McMaster University School of Medicine in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1982. Dr. Pathria completed a one year internship in internal medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at McMaster University School of Medicine in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada . She completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at UCSD Medical Center in 1987.
Dr. Pathria had a joint appointment in the Departments of Radiology and Orthopedics at Case Western Reserve University from 1987-1991. In 1991, she joined the radiology faculty at UCSD. Dr. Pathria is currently Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of California, San Diego. She also serves on the staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital and Scripps Clinic in La Jolla.
Dr. Pathria is certified by the American Board of Radiology and by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Skeletal Radiology, and the International Skeletal Society. In 2000, she was awarded the Presidents Medal by the International Skeletal Society, given in special recognition of outstanding scientific achievements on an international level to those who have as yet not completed their 45th year of age.
Dr. Pathria has coauthored one book, MRI of the Musculoskeletal System, and has authored and coauthored over 90 chapters and articles related to musculoskeletal imaging. She has lectured widely on MR, trauma and spinal imaging to national and international audiences. Her specific areas of interest include musculoskeletal trauma, emergency radiology, and musculoskeletal MR imaging.
