Dr. Hughes-Cassidy is Board Certified in Radiology and Internal Medicine in Ireland and Fellowship trained at UCSD in both Abdominal Imaging and Musculoskeletal Imaging. She finished in the top 3% of her medical class, winning the Dargon Prize of Medicine, the St. Vincent’s Hospital Consultants Scholarship award, the O’Driscoll Prize in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the John Cunningham Medal in Obstetrics and Gynecology during her undergraduate career. She interprets all aspects of Body Imaging including: ultrasound, CT, MR and GI/GU and conducts conferences bi-monthly for the radiology residents and gives lectures to the UCSD medical students and at Body Imaging review courses. Her main research interest currently is in liver imaging and she has first author original research major papers published in the 'American Journal of Radiology', the 'Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging' and 'Abdominal Imaging'.
