Dr. Andre's research activities include:
(1) Digital mammography, especially novel detectors; the world's first fully electronic full-breast digital mammograms were produced in this lab.
(2) Ultrasound diffraction tomography and inverse scattering for breast imaging using cylindrical transducer arrays.
(3) Ultrasound characterization of tissue, particularly breast tissue, blood and bone.
(4) Computer-aided detection and classification of breast masses using ultrasound.
(5) Holographic 3D display of CT, magnetic resonance and ultrasound images.
(6) Quantitative applications of computed tomography.
(7) Novel detectors for direct digital x-ray imaging. His laboratory is equipped for image analysis, signal processing, ultrasound measurements, novel ultrasound imaging technology, novel x-ray detector technology.
